In Utah, we value fair competition. By ensuring banks use impartial, risk-based criteria when evaluating customers—our commonsense legislation protects lawful industries like firearms, energy producers, and cryptocurrencies. curtis.senate.gov/press-releases…

Today, I spoke in favor of the FIT for the 21st Century Act. This bill establishes a clear regulatory framework for digital assets, fostering innovation and ensuring U.S. leadership in blockchain tech. Bitcoin and crypto have come a long way since Laszlo Hanyecz bought pizza on this day in 2010. While the value has skyrocketed, crypto has become a significant part of our economy, especially here in Utah, where Overstock was one of the first companies to accept crypto payments.

On the floor today, I urged my colleagues to support a resolution repealing the latest SEC rule targeting crypto currency.
Crypto is a legitimate market used by many Utahns. We should be giving investors opportunities to take part in crypto, not putting up artificial barriers. pic.x.com/xCvCfdOF2u

Today, I cosponsored legislation that prevents crypto from being put at a government created disadvantage.
Our current tax code does not work in the current digital asset ecosystem and putting crypto on an even disclosure playing field with cash ensures it remains accessible to millions of Americans.
Congress must continue to work to bring legal and regulatory certainty to ensure these technologies and entrepreneurs, especially those in Silicon Slopes, can continue to flourish here in the U.S. #utpol

The SEC approved several first-of-their-kind ETFs centered around Bitcoin. This is a good first step from the fed gov't to foster innovation and consumer choice, not stifle it.
Now we need to continue with legislation that puts guardrails up for consumers and predictability for the crypto industry.
